Locations, props, Make up and costumes build atmosphere story and drama. Locations allow the creation of a fantasy world, make up and costumes can make a pretty girl look stunning. Of course you can just film you and your girl or boy having sex in your bedsit, but as everyone can do this why should they look at yours? If you have skills of storytelling and imagination you can off much more. Better less but better.

The most expensive day is the shoot day. Everything is costing money, the models, the equipment, the location. The better prepared you are the better and cheaper the shoot will be. Have your ideas worked out on paper, then plan the order you want to do things in. Remain flexable, what will you do if one of the models is late? Think through and prepare costumes. Are they clean? The right size? Pack the props and make sure if they need batteries you have them. |
| Make sure you crew and talent know the call time and location. Send good travel directions. Ring and e-mail the day before to see if all is OK. Have a back up plan ready for when one of your models doesn't show. |

Casting
Erotic films are difficult to cast as Actors are reluctant or not interested in what happens in the bedroom and models have no acting training. So casting is a difficult task. Models also are very different in the level to which they are willing to perform. Models can be found on Model Websites where most information can be found. Talk through with the model the requirements of the script and even rework script ideas to fit in with what the models is confortable in doing.
